Mallorca has a great tradition in making ice cream. Ice cream artisans on the island have built during centuries the indisputable fame that some ice cream shops have on the island. And among them, Gelats Valls stood out. Founded in 1929 in Port de Pollença, this ice cream shop has always been a benchmark in the north of the island and an emblematic brand for all Mallorcans.
Due to various circumstances, the company was forced to close several years ago. Following the same philosophy for almost a century, the founder’s granddaughters have decided to return to our lives one of the symbols of Mallorca’s summers.
For the rebranding project, we get deep into the history and way of working of a family business that for 3 generations has not only respected the most purist way of making ice cream, but they are also fervent defenders of the local product.
On the other hand, the imagotype and the color palette have been decisive in this project since the red color and the penguin of the original logo have always been the elements for which the brand has been identified for generations, so it was essential to maintain them , but giving a new style and adapting them to current uses.
With this brand design we wanted to reinforce the position of Gelats Valls and turn it into a fresh, Mediterranean, close brand that represents the artisan value of its products.
